Orchestra's 30-minute classes begin the first week in December and take place twice each week. Classes are held from 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM - —BEFORE the start of elementary school day.
Transportation to and from Issaquah Valley Elementary is the responsibility of each student's family. When orchestra class is finished each day, students will be escorted to a parent pick up location.
The annual, non-refundable $300 fee helps cover the cost of the orchestra instructor and education assistant. This fee is due before the first class session in December.
Registrations are accepted until a class is full. If a class is not filled to the minimum of 12 students, the program will be canceled and a full refund will be issued. Additional registration forms are available on this web page, at your school office, and at the Central Administration office at 565 NW Holly Street in Issaquah.
Once a class fills, we will place students’ names on a wait list in the order each completed registration packet is received. Additional registration forms are available on the district web site, at your school office, and at the Central Administration office at 565 NW Holly Street in Issaquah.
Students select the stringed instrument of their choice—violin, viola, cello or bass—and rent (recommended) or purchase the instrument before classes begin in December. Each student should also purchase the book Essential Elements 2000, Book 1 for the instrument they have selected, along with supplies such as a shoulder rest for violins and violas and an end-pin holder for cellos and basses.
