Representatives from the PE/Health curricula reviewed, made minor revisions and agreed with 100% consensus on the newly created 6-8 Health scope and sequence. The second portion of the day was spent aligning Washington state learning goals with curriculum units. The group also created a materials assessment for district and individual buildings.
December 13
Scope and sequence work was completed and will be ready for review at the January meeting. Common assessments were articulated and will finalize at later meeting. Text criteria as well as supplemental materials were established.
November 26
This meeting day was dedicated to the detailed work of curriculum alignment in Health, including grade level learning goals, study units, topics, timeline and materials. Members also began screening information and compiled recommendation of published material to consider for review.
October 29
The Secondary Health/PE Adoption Committee is comprised of a Health/PE teacher from each of our secondary schools. These educators reviewed their charter and goals, agreed to group norms and developed a percentage based definition for group consensus. Common philosophy, goals for alignment in scheduling, curriculum and materials were shared.
