Curriculum adoption team met and previewed newly released curriculum materials. Notes were compiled and questions sent to vendors.

Afternoon meeting was held to discuss the winter field testing of STC EWIT and STEMscopes. The team was split for each curriculum and no consensus was met. Additional materials for review were distributed. Mr. Burgard presented his work with the Water Fellows.

Teachers used the PEEC alignment tool to vote on all of the submitted curriculum material offerings. The PEEC alignment tool clarified expectations for how the NGCC and "Three Dimensional Learning" can be found in curricular materials.
November 20, 2014
Teachers revisited the discussions from earlier in the month and determined that there were no materials they wanted to field test this year. Teachers voted unanimously to postpone adoption until more materials are available. Teachers then began working on a performance-based task that incorporates properties of matter into the problem of de-icing roads.
November 3, 2014
Teachers studied the adopted curriculums around the region. Mr. Donaldson gave a presentation about incorporating sustainability into curriculum. Teachers began comparing lessons using the Equip Rubric. The group then mapped out the timing for each material/textbook available.
October 16, 2014:
The materials selection team read and summarized the responses for the parents survey. Teachers discussed the evaluative tools available for use with the NGSS. Teachers began reviewing materials and began the evaluation process.

The middle school physical science materials selection committee had their first meeting on August 28, 2014. During this time the group approved their charter for review by ed planning and reviewed teacher responses to the materials and curriculum survey.
