Measurements of Student Progress
In the 2009-10 school year, the Measurements of Student Progress (MSP) replaced the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) for students in grades 3-8.
As the name suggests, this new test measures student progress. It is shorter than the WASL with the reading, math, and science sections taking one day each instead of two. For now, the MSP writing test will still take two days. Students will be able to take the MSP online in the future.
