Each year, 600-700 students enroll in a Career and Technical Education
course in the Issaquah School District. CTE provides education that students
will utilize for the rest of their lives. Through CTE, students explore
careers, connect with the 'real' world, and develop employability and
leadership skills. Industry volunteers provide guidance and advice through
advisory committees to ensure students are
learning the most current skills needed in the workplace.
Several of our CTE courses also
allow students to earn college
credit through Tech Prep. During the
2007-2008 school year 361 students
earned 1,789 college credits through
our local community colleges.
Issaquah students may also take courses offered through the
Northeast Vocational Area
Cooperative (NEVAC).The NEVAC
cooperative includes schools in the
Bellevue, Issaquah, Lake Washington,
Mercer Island, Northshore, Riverview
and Snoqualmie Valley school
districts.
