Capital Projects manages land acquisition, planning, design, bidding, construction, modernization and renovation of schools and District facilities.
In 1990, student enrollment was 8,600. The District had only three high schools, three middle schools and seven elementaries. By 2002, enrollment had climbed to 14,500. Today over 16,000 students attend four high schools, one ninth grade campus, four expanded middle schools, and 14 elementary schools. Over the last 13 years, Capital Projects successfully managed more than $150 million in modernization and new construction projects. Today Issaquah has schools and support service centers that are modern, efficient, and cost effective, and equitable District-wide.
