Humanities Plus

Next year's 6th grade students with strong academic skills and a history of academic success are candidates for Issaquah School District's middle school Humanities Plus classes. Humanities Plus is a combination of social studies and language arts. The two classes are scheduled so that students attend both classes with the same teacher - a technique called "blocking" in schools. Students in blocked Humanities Plus classrooms study and learn in an environment with added rigor, higher expectations and some acceleration of learning. Humanities Plus is the middle school extension of the District's elementary classes for highly capable students.

Students must apply to be enrolled in Humanities Plus. Applications for enrollment are available on-line below with a few copies available in your school office.
