Kindergarten 2008-2009

Half-Day Kindergarten – the basics
Half Day kindergarten is available to all eligible students at all district elementary schools with the exception of Discovery. Discovery Half Day K students will attend classes in 2008-2009 at a Kindergarten Center at Challenger Elementary. Because half day kindergarten is funded in Washington State by state and local dollars, there is no fee to attend half-day morning or afternoon kindergarten sessions.

Full-Day Kindergarten – the basics
Full-Day kindergarten is not funded by the state; families who opt for full day kindergarten pay a fee to cover the extra cost. Not all Washington districts offer Full Day K.

Kindergarten Bus Rides August 12, 13, or 14, 2008
New kindergarteners are invited to ride a school bus during Kindergarten Bus Rides, August 12, 13, or 14. This popular event gives students and parents a chance to learn about school bus safety, meet some of the bus drivers, take a ride on a school bus, and even go through the bus wash!
