Club Connection

Club Field trip forms to reference trips for 2008

Cougar Ridge Elementary
Challenger Elementary
Endeavour Elementary
Newcastle Elementary

Students anticipate Club Connection during Winter, Mid-winter, Spring, and Summer breaks as a time to explore new learning in exciting enrichment activities. We know students learn best when they have time to relax and are able to initiate their own exploratory learning activities.

Staff encourages students to experiment, create and explore, keeping in mind the balance between child and staff-initiated activities, individual and group activities, and quiet and not-so-quiet learning fun.

Enrollment

Selected centers provide extended care during Winter, Mid-winter, Spring, and Summer breaks according to the fee schedule. This care is optional for current SAC participants only and requires separate registration. Participants are responsible for payment for the days reserved on the registration form regardless of attendance. Details about dates, locations, and services days are available during registration.

For more information, contact the School Age Care office at (425) 837-5074.

Activities

The Club Connection is a personalized program based upon children’s interests and the special talents of staff members. Each staff team plans programs that match student learning readiness, that spark new interests and curiosity, and that build self-confidence. This program planning is why parents are so enthusiastic about Club Connection. Club Connection activities are designed to enhance student learning. In the summer, we contract professional educators for the enrichment programs held each week. The combination of contracted staff and our highly talented center staff gives students a valuable summer learning experience.

Field trip policy

Club Connection field trips are conducted with the same safety and permission requirements used by the District — including a signed parental permission form and designated mode of transportation. We need parent permission forms in advance to validate insurance coverage and to allow students to participate. For safety and supervision reasons, each child wears a camp shirt on all scheduled field trips. Field trips are usually held each Tuesday and Thursday. Please review the calendar for more information.

Snacks & lunch

Morning and afternoon activities start with snacks provided by the district food service department. These nutritious snacks meet the requirements of state and health department guidelines. Each includes one or more dairy or protein sources and at least three of the following four items: a dairy product, a protein food, breads or bread alternate or a fruit or juice item.

Children need to bring a nutritionally balanced sack lunch, including a beverage, from home. A brown bag lunch is recommended every day and is required on field trip days.
