School Board policies
School Board policies define the Board's vision for the District, the structure for accomplishing the vision, and the system of accountability for all involved in realizing the vision. Policies establish legal records and standards of conduct for the school district. Policies can provide a bridge between the School Board's philosophy and goals and the everyday administration of programs. They also direct Board members in responding to:
- emerging issues, conflict, and controversy
- clarifying its own roles and responsibilities and those of the superintendent and
staff
- defining the decision-making process
- ensuring timely evaluation of programs, personnel, and activities.
