All Issaquah schools will begin two hours late today, and buses will operate on snow routes (if your street or neighborhood is not listed under "Snow Routes" in the purple Emergency Transportation Bulletin, your bus route is un-altered). Roads throughout the District became icy over night, but temperatures are expected to increase enough by midday to overcome the slickness and the slush created by morning commuters.
The two-hour delay applies to schools' shortened Wednesday schedule: middle and high schools will begin at about noon, and elementary schools will begin between 10:15 and 11 a.m., depending on your school's exact Wednesday start time. Afternoon dismissal times will not change. Middle and high schools will NOT serve school lunch. Elementary schools WILL serve lunch.
A two-hour late start means these programs are cancelled: Head Start, morning and afternoon kindergarten and preschool, before-school activities, and morning School Age Care. These programs are NOT cancelled: Full-day kindergarten and after-school School Age Care.
Note: Any time a District weather-delay decision is made, please feel free to follow your best judgment in terms of your family's particular situation; schools are flexible during inclement weather days.
Thank you.
