·        In an effort to enhance safety and awareness, the Issaquah Police Department has issued a bulletin to inform community members that a sexual offender has moved into the downtown Issaquah area.

·        Please read the important online information from the Department of Health about meningococcal meningitis for students in sixth through 12th grade and the human papilloma virus for girls in sixth through 12th grade. Vaccines are available for both of these diseases that can significantly protect your child.

·        Don’t forget to register for the Nourish Every Mind Luncheon now! The Issaquah Schools Foundation will use all proceeds from this benefit event on October 18 to directly enhance Issaquah schools. Thank you to the sponsors and everyone who has already booked their seat.

·        It’s not hibernation time yet! Our four-legged friends can be quite active in the fall. A Klahanie resident saw a bear in the neighborhood’s green belt today and another bear was spotted near Briarwood Elementary School last week. Please remind your students about animal safety (including walking to school in groups) and manage your home habits to reduce wildlife encounters.
