Parents, we want to hear from you: Please take the District’s online survey to help us best meet your student’s needs. The elementary parent survey is open now through August 10. The middle- and high-school surveys will be available Aug. 20-31.

The District has just completed its proposed $141.9 million budget for the coming school year. Everyone is invited to provide feedback and comments during a public hearing at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Administration Building, 565 N.W. Holly St. More information, including how to obtain a copy of the proposed budget and a guide to the District’s financial plan, is online.

Elementary families, please follow the instructions on the lime-green postcard you received in the mail to confirm you student’s enrollment. This information is very important in ensuring that elementary schools have the teachers and resources they need in the fall. (Middle- and high-school students confirm their enrollment through the registration process.)

All incoming kindergartners are invited to take a free bus ride and tour of the bus barn on either Aug. 7, 8, or 9. Reservations for this fun event can be made next week, from July 30 to Aug. 3.

King County Elections reminds you to mark your calendar for the new primary date, August 21.

The Tenth Annual Chalk Art Fest is almost here! Children of all ages can decorate their own piece of community sidewalk with free chalk. All participants will get a certificate and be in the running for prizes. The event runs from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, at the Issaquah Community Center, 301 Rainier Blvd. S.
