Doug
Longman,
orchestra teacher and leader of the District’s Evergreen Philharmonic, will be
featured in artEast’s upcoming exhibit “Collective
Memory: The Spirit of Community in Art.” This exhibit honors local artists—who
have shaped the community with their extraordinary art—by telling their life
stories in a visual presentation. Mr. Longman, and the 15 other featured
artists, will be on hand to kickoff the exhibit at the opening reception, 6-9
p.m. on Sept. 7, at the artEast UpFront Gallery, 48 Front St. N. Thanks to Mr.
Longman’s dedication, passion, and leadership as a teacher, the Issaquah
community has been infused with music and music appreciation since
1979.

Our schools in the past have provided absentee ballot request forms for parents
in registration packets or on community tables; this year, we are instead
offering you this electronic reminder: If you would like to request an ongoing
absentee ballot form, visit the King County
Election website.
