Subject: Demographics report, Grand Ridge Open House, and superintendent s earch

·        The School Board received its professional demographics report this week, which parallels administrative projections for the next five years: While the District will continue to see some growth in that time frame, it’s very near the “plateau” of student enrollment and the subsequent decline. The Board will discuss implications—what to do in terms of building and financial planning—at its Oct. 11 business meeting.

·        Please note: The District’s boundary review process has not begun! It was scheduled to start in September, but it has been put on hold until the Board makes decisions related to the demographics report. The community and each school will receive notification about the process and committee selection if/when the boundary process begins.

·        Party time! The Grand Ridge Elementary dedication and open house is tomorrow, Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. to noon at the school, 1739 N.E. Park Dr., Issaquah.

·        The School Board has finalized the superintendent search process and timeline.  All community members are invited to give input on the qualifications and characteristics the next superintendent will need to lead the district at 7 p.m. Oct. 9 and 10 at the administration building, 565 N.W. Holly St.
