Issaquah School District
Emergency Information
General emergency information for parents
- Every school has a standard procedure for evacuation and lockdown --each designed to safeguard whoever is in the buildings and/or get them out of the buildings if evacuation is needed.
- Schools rehearse basic emergency plans to make systematic responses second nature.
- Avoid driving to a school during an emergency to keep roads open for emergency vehicles.
- Tune in to local media stations or websites for information before adding another vehicle to the road.
- Phone lines are likely to be jammed and staff's attention is focused on the students. Listen to media reports and watch websites.
- Depending upon the specifics of your school's emergency situation, there may be a delay reconnecting with students.
- Please be prepared to show a picture ID before picking up your child after a school emergency; the emergency response staff may not recognize you as a parent or authorized guardian.
