In October 2014, Issaquah 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th graders took the State's Healthy Youth Survey — the seventh time Issaquah School District had been involved in the state-wide data collection effort.
The biennial Healthy Youth Survey is a joint effort between the state Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, Department of Health, Department of Social Health Service's Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse, the Community Trade and Economic Development, and the Family Policy Council.
Many Washington school districts like Issaquah voluntarily administer the anonymous survey to sixth, eighth, 10th, and 12th-grade students in October. Questions focus on risky behaviors as well as safety and violence, physical activity and diet, and emotional wellbeing.
