April 5, 2012: The state Department of Health this week announced that the number of cases of whooping cough (or pertussis) has grown significantly this year. In the Issaquah School District, nurses report seeing no similar pattern of escalation—and that’s how they would like it to remain! Please follow best medical advice, including covering your cough, staying home when sick, and getting a whooping cough vaccine or booster.
