Five years ago
Maywood Middle School launched a Writing Assessment Program because two out of three (64.7%) Maywood 7th graders at that time were unable to write well enough to meet the state standards for 7th graders. In just five years of partnership with teachers and trained parents and volunteers, almost eight out of ten (79.7%) 7th graders meet or exceed those same standards.
