Mamma Mia! LHS alumna stars in Broadway tour

Liberty High School alumna Vicki Noon has proved she's a true "Dancing Queen" and "Super Trouper" ever since she's been able to say that Broadway producers decided to "Take a Chance on Me." (Could the "Money, Money, Money" be far behind?)

Vicki is currently performing as Sophie—the star role—in the North America tour of the global hit "Mamma Mia," which features the music of former Swedish pop group Abba. And she's good. One recent review said:
"As expected for a Broadway touring production, all of the actors can sing, but one cast member stands out. Vicki Noon as Sophie has the strong, clear-as-a-Belle voice of a Disney heroine. It's a great pleasure whenever she takes the spotlight."
Vicki's star began rising at Liberty High as she performed in numeral musicals such as "Bye Bye Birdie." Her former music director clearly remembers that Vicki "was amazing—she came to the first rehearsal with all her lines and music already memorized!"

Since graduating in 2003, Vicki starred in shows such as "The Tutor" and "Cats" at Issaquah Village Theatre before signing on to "Mamma Mia." Vicki reports that it actually took about a year and a half after her first audition to be offered the Sophie role.

The closest local opportunity to watch Vicki in "Mamma Mia" is July 25 through 29 in Portland, Oregon.
