Edging out hundreds of other entries, Liberty High School’s Patriot Press won third place in the “Best of Show” category in Washington State University’s Murrow School of Journalism contest in April.
In addition to the overall recognition, Jenna Farr won third place for Sports Writing and Sarah Wilcock won an honorable mention for News Writing.
That’s not all! The Patriot Press staff has been informed that it has won an award in the Washington Society of Professional Journalism’s annual contest. The team will find out if it has received a first-, second-, or third-place award or honorable mention in the high school category at a banquet in Bellevue on May 31.
Last year in this contest, the Patriot Press received first-place for overall best high school newspaper for its enrollment size.But enough of reading this—let’s move on to the award-winning stuff:
