    • Use the EQuIP Rubric to evaluate at least one text

During this discussion Chris pointed out that Structure and Function was both a CCC and DCI.  

Diane shared an insight that really resonated – the way we traditionally look at and think about standards isn’t compatible with the NGSS.   

Structure and Function is a content piece, and separately a cross cutting concept. In the same way, modeling is a SEP as well as a CCC. These are complex standards with many parts – thank you all for being willing to dig into them.)

      • Pearson Update: “The new Miller & Levine Biology program will bear a 2019 copyright, which means it cannot be sold until January 2018. We will not have viable samples to show customers until Fall of 2017. However, we will have the scope & sequence, some drafts, and product configuration available after the NSTA conference in Los Angeles (sic), which occurs at the end of March, 3+ months from now."
