    • May 30, 2017: Determine consensus and norms, share charter and process, review research, curriculum review, screen materials, prepare for field testing
    • October 2, 2017:  Review field test input, analyze materials, make recommendation, IMC preparation,
    • November 16, 2017: IMC Presentation
    • December 14, 2017: IMC Review and Vote
    • December 15, 2017 – January 5, 2018: Public Review – date is contingent on IMC Recommendation – but tentatively planned
    • January 10, 2018:  School Board Review – date is contingent on IMC Recommendation – but tentatively planned

MEETING SUMMARIES

May 30, 2017
The first meeting of the grades 6-8 Social-Emotional Learning Materials Selection committee was held on May 30, 2017.  The group reviewed and discussed norms, the consensus process, state standards, research and goals. Grade level teams examined the curriculum options, discussed the merits of each program and made plans for field testing both Second Step and Lions Quest Skills for Adolescents.

October 26, 2017
The second meeting of the grades 6-8 Social-Emotional Learning Materials Selection committee was held on October 26, 2017. The group reviewed field test input, student input, and identified pros and cons for each of the two curriculum options - Second Step and Lion’s Quest Skills for Adolescents. The group reached consensus to recommend Second Step to the Instructional Materials Committee for district adoption. Information about professional development and implementation will be determined in the spring pending final approval by the School Board.
