Learn about i-Ready

What is i-Ready?

i-Ready Assessment is an online program that assesses students' strengths and areas for growth.  Information from i-Ready assists teachers and school to personalize their learning and monitor student progress throughout the school year. i-Ready is research based, extensively validated and vetted by OSPI.  i-Ready also provides a research-based screener for reading difficulties that may be associated with dyslexia.

i-Ready provides an Adaptive, Criterion-Referenced Assessment

The purpose of the i-Ready Assessment is to determine how best to support your student’s learning.  i-Ready assessments are adaptive, meaning that adjusts its questions to your student’s responses, finding the proficiency level in each area assessed.  Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. Students may, depending on their responses to items, be assessed using content within, below or above their grade level. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions.

Studies have shown a strong correlation between achievement on the iReady assessments and performance on Washington’s comprehensive assessment of academic skills, the Smarter Balanced Assessment.

i-Ready provides a computer-adaptive personal learning pathway

i-Ready Instruction, or learning path, provides students with lessons based on their individual strengths and areas for growth. These lessons are interactive and provide strategic supports to keep your child engaged as they learn.  These lessons are adaptive, meaning that as a student completes a lesson successfully, they automatically advance the student along their own personalized learning path.  Within i-Ready, students may, depending on their individual need, learn or reinforce skills beyond their grade level, skills they are learning in their grade level, or pre-requisite skills below their grade level.
