Elementary Conferences Update

We value our ISD families and want to share with you our plans for elementary conferences this year as we continue to navigate around a virus and implement important and necessary mitigation protocols in our schools.

We welcome all parents and guardians to participate in this year’s conferences in-person and want to make you aware that we are also offering a virtual option for those that prefer it. Our K-5 teachers will be working with families to ascertain which modality they prefer. Above all, we value our parent partners and want to ensure access to your child’s educational experiences.

The following list summarizes our common understanding for elementary parent teacher conferences due to the impact of COVID:

  • Families may attend in person OR choose a virtual conference. Our K-5 teachers work with families to ascertain which modality they prefer in advance of the conference.
  • All mitigation protocols will be communicated, by administration to families, before the first day of conferences through building E news. All parents/guardians (as well as needed interpreters) will be expected to follow the protocols.
  • For families needing an interpreter and meeting in-person, the interpreter may meet in-person along with the family and staff member or may join a family and teacher virtually. The District has confirmed that the in-person interpreters have complied with the Governor’s mandate around vaccine verifications and exemptions.
  • Staff members will clean the desk area at the conclusion of each in-person conference.
