Last fall, Issaquah School District 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th grade students took the state's Healthy Youth Survey. The Healthy Youth Survey (HYS) provides important information about the health of adolescents in Washington. Survey results for ISD students are now available on the District website.
Students who participate respond to questions that focus on risky behaviors, safety, violence, mental health, physical activity and diet, and emotional well-being. School Districts, county prevention coordinators, community mobilization coalitions, community public health and safety networks, and others use this information to guide policy and programs that serve youth.
The HYS is a collaborative effort of the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, the Department of Health, the Health Care Authority - Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery, and the state Liquor and Cannabis Boards. This is the eighth time Issaquah School District has been involved in this statewide data collection effort. Statewide results are available on the Healthy Youth Survey website.
