Community input is an important component of the ISD’s curriculum adoption process. One way we receive input is through our Instructional Materials Committee (IMC) and we are currently seeking members to serve on the committee. The IMC reviews instructional materials that are recommended for adoption prior to approval from the school board. The primary function of the committee is to review and recommend materials based on:
- The District’s goals for adoption
- The District’s philosophy of selection of instructional materials; and
- Current practices for evaluation of materials for gender and ethnic bias and community standards
The IMC meets on the second Thursday of each month from 4:15-6:00 PM. Committee members are responsible for evaluating and reviewing materials between meetings. Committee member term limits are two years.
If you are interested in representing the Issaquah School Community by serving on the IMC, please contact Susie Yamane in the Teaching and Learning Department at email@example.com or at 425-837-7122 for an application. Applications are due August 1, 2019.
