ISD School Board Recognizes October as Dyslexia Awareness Month

The Issaquah School Board voted last week to formally recognize Governor Jay Inslee’s proclamation naming October as Dyslexia Awareness Month and add their support for ongoing work serving students with dyslexia. The Governor’s proclamation points out that dyslexia is a neurological condition that makes it difficult to read, write, and spell, and that it affects all segments of society regardless of race, gender, income, educational background or ability.
