Creekside Choir (4th and 5th Graders)

The Creekside Choir is a non-auditioned group open to all 4th and 5th grade students.  We rehearse Friday mornings at 8:15am from September 27th through our festival in March.  This year our concerts will include the Veteran's Day assembly, a December concert and a choir festival with other neighboring schools.

Creekside Marimba Club (4th and 5th Graders)

At Creekside we have at least 2 Marimba Ensembles each year consisting of 4th and 5th grade students.  These are auditioned groups that play 3-6 part songs, most of which are African in style with lots of syncopation and polyrhythm, but also some rock, classical, and jazz songs. Each group meets one morning a week before school.  We play school concerts and assemblies, as well as community performances including both the Sammamish Farmer's Market and the Issaquah Farmer's Market.

Global Reading Challenge (4th and 5th Graders)

The KCLS Foundation sponsors this fun-filled "Battle of the Books" style program that encourages 4th and 5th graders to work together on teams and challenge other schools to correctly answer questions about ten selected books. Children's Librarians select the titles for a wide range of reading levels especially suited to the interests of young readers. The goal is to encourage students at all reading levels to engage in teamwork while reading some of the best in children's literature.

Safety Patrol

Creekside Elementary school is committed to encouraging our school community to observe and abide by safety rules.  Students in Safety Patrol keep other students safe  by being proactive: reinforcing rules and demonstrating skills in leadership, responsibility, respect and accountability while making a positive impact in our school.

Waste Watchers

Creekside students are spearheading a food waste recycling program called Waste Watchers. During lunch, all Creekside student are encouraged to dispose of their food waste, garbage, and recycling into specially marked containers.  Waist watchers are volunteer students who quickly eat, put on their Waste Watcher jacket, stand by the marked containers, and help fellow students to put their lunch items into the proper bins.

There are many PTSA and non-school sponsored clubs available throughout the school year.  To find more information, check the Creekside PTSA website or look for fliers in the kiosk outside the main office.
