Cougar Ridge Expansion Project

Cougar
Expansion project at Cougar Ridge will improve safety and security and increase permanent capacity to accommodate growing school population.
The Cougar Ridge Expansion Project includes relocation of the Administration and Special Services spaces, improving office location and security at the building. An additional 6 classrooms, activity space and an expanded Commons will meet additional space needs due to State funded Full Day Kindergarten.

December 2017

Tenant Improvement Area:

  • Wall framing is completed.
  • Sheetrock is 100% installed.
  • Taping and mudding of sheetrock is 80% completed.
  • Painter has started priming walls. Approx. 20% completed.
  • Electrical wall rough-in is approx. 90% completed.
  • Mechanical duct work is approx. 60% completed.
  • Plumbing rough-in is approx. 95% completed.
  • Fire sprinkler rough-in piping is approx. 90% completed.

Classroom Addition:

  • Site utilities are 80% completed (Sewer, water, power, storm).
  • Framing and rebar of perimeter footings is completed.
  • Grease interceptor is installed and operational.
  • Rough framing of interior walls is approx. 40% completed.
  • Rough grading is proceeding at the new loading dock.

October 2017

Tenant Improvement Area:

  • Demolition work is completed.
  • Wall framing is completed.
  • Below-grade mechanical work is completed.
  • Below-grade electrical work is completed.
  • Electrical wall rough-in is approx. 80% completed.
  • Mechanical duct work is approx. 50% completed.
  • Plumbing rough-in is approx. 90% completed.
  • Fire sprinkler rough-in piping is approx. 90% completed.

Classroom Addition:

  • Site utilities are 75% completed (Sewer, water, power, storm)
  • Framing and rebar of perimeter footings is 75% completed.
  • Grease interceptor is installed and operational.

September 2017

  • All temporary walls and fencing have been installed separating staff and students from construction areas.
  • Temporary trailers for office staff, health room and OT/PT are operational.
  • Demolition work in the Tenant Improvement Area (TI) is approximately 95% completed.
  • City of Bellevue has released the Building Permit for the classroom addition.

July/August 2017

  • Staff effected by the move have been relocated to their temporary classrooms.
  • Temporary trailers for the Administration staff, Health Clinic and OT/PT are in place. Power, data, and fire alarm will connected the week of August 14th.
  • Cornerstone General Contractors have begun demolition of the old Administration areas and LRC classrooms.
  • Structural shoring is being erected in the commons area.
  • The District is still waiting for the City of Bellevue to release the building permit.

June 2017

  • SEPA process is completed. One public comment was received and is being addressed.
  • First of three temporary trailers has arrived.
  • Staff continue packing. Move scheduled for the week of June 26th.

April/May 2017

  • Bassetti Architects are continuing with contract documents.
  • District has begun the SEPA process.
  • Project is advertising May 9th and 16th.Project bid date is June 8th.

March 2017

  • Bassetti Architects are continuing with contract documents and meeting with staff on program needs as required.
  • Bassetti has submitted for building permit.
  • Bassetti is scheduled for a presentation to the PTA and parents on March 13th.

February 2017

  • Bassetti Architects are continuing with design development and continuing meetings with staff on program needs.

January 2017

  • Bassetti Architects are continuing with design development and continuing meeting with staff on program needs.
  • Group Four has completed the site survey.

November/December 2016

  • Bassetti Architects are continuing with design development.
  • Group Four is currently surveying the site.

October 2016

  • Capital Projects met with Bassetti Architects and Mrs. Fowler and started the educational program phase and reviewed the scope of work for the project.
  • Bassetti is currently working on refining the program and starting schematic design.
