To meet continued enrollment growth, the District will construct a new elementary school to house up to 650 students. The building will include 23 classrooms and construction of playfield, bus and circulation areas and new parking.

Elementary School #17 is currently planned to be located on the same site as the new High School #4.  The proposed site is located at 4200 - 228th Ave. SE, Issaquah, WA 98029 (former location of the Providence Heights College).

March 2021

  • We seem to be back on track with the City of Issaquah concerning moving forward with the site plan. Some fairly minor revisions to the site plan were required to move the process forward.
  • We are currently working with the City of Issaquah Staff to determine a first permit issuance schedule. Currently schedule shows start of construction early August 2021.
  • SDP Application and MSP Applications were submitted 09/25/2020 and deemed complete applications on 10/06/2020. Public comment period was complete on 11/19/2020. We are now awaiting City Staff Land Use review comments on plans that have been submitted.
  • AAS’s for tree save and parking are into the City of Issaquah for review and comment. The AAS process has a public input portion to it.
  • The Design Team continues to work and design the site, the buildings, etc. to make everything as efficient as possible.

January 2021

  • The Design Team and ISD were told this last Monday January 25th that the site plan that has been shared/discussed/shown to the City staff for the last year+, was submitted as part of the SDP/MSP Application and continually refined to meet City staff comments will not meet the FAR portion of the code. This was a major setback to the process. We are continuing to meet with City staff to resolve.

  • The design team and ISD continue to meet with City Staff to work through the issues of the FAR, retaining wall height and tree-save.

    • Submittal was delayed in an attempt to leverage information learned and City Councilmembers comments from the 9/15 City Council Study Session to further our discussions with City Staff concerning the FAR portion of City code prior to application.
  • The Design Team continues to work and design the site, the buildings, etc. to make everything as efficient as possible.

August 2020

  • Completion of responses to the Community Conference are nearing completion. Working with City Staff on final report.
  •  ISD and the Design-Build Team submitted the application for the Site Development Plan (SDP)/Master Site Plan (MSP) in early September.
  • ISD staff and the Design Team continue to work with the COI staff to move the SDP/MSP permitting process along.
  • The Design Team continues to work and design the site, the buildings, etc. to make everything as efficient as possible.

June 2020

  • City of Issaquah has scheduled the Community Conference for July 15, 2020 @ 6:30 p.m.
  • ISD and the Design-Build Team submitted the application for the Site Development Plan (SDP)/Master Site Plan (MSP) Thursday May 28th.
  • ISD staff and the Design Team continue to work with the COI staff to move the SDP/MSP permitting process along.
  • The Design Team continues to work and design the site, the buildings, etc. to make everything as efficient as possible.

January 2020

  • No changes.

November 2019

  • ISD design team and the City of Issaquah staff are working through configurations to narrow down the site, parking and building layout.
  • ISD design team continuing to refine the building designs.
  • ISD and the City planning department are working on rezoning to enable the site to accommodate schools.

April 2018

Site acquisition remains underway.
