New Middle School #6

MS6 Exterior 2-13-19
The new middle school is scheduled to open September 2021 and will serve 850 students in grades 6-8. The 130,000 square foot building will help reduce student populations at five existing middle schools and meet the District's needs into the future.

The Issaquah School District has been approved by the Capital Projects Advisory Review Board to use Progressive Design Build on this project.  The process brings the designer and builder team on earlier to help with a project's design and construction costs. The District feels this alternative process is well suited to the new high school project.

Middle School #6 will be a high performance building. The educational program will include core learning environments, a science suite, music, athletic facilities including an all-weather turf athletic field, community spaces (library, gym, Commons with stage and dining), administrative areas, special services and building support spaces.

The District has a purchase and sale agreement for approximately nine acres of property located at the entrance of the Talus community in Issaquah as the site of Middle School #6. Feasibility work including a pre-application submittal to the City of Issaquah is in progress.
