Hi! My name is Angela Williams and I work as a School Based Mental Health Counselor here at Endeavour Elementary school.
Starting with the 2018-2019 school year (thanks to the voter approved February 2018 Levy) schools in the Issaquah School District have a designated School Based Health Counselor. This program was established to meet the mental health needs of students in a nurturing environment. Moving forward, the hope is to foster the well-being of all students in the Issaquah School District so students feel safe, healthy and ready to learn.
What services do I provide to the students at Endeavour?
I provide confidential counseling and skills building on many topics including:
- Anxiety and worry
- Relationship/social problems
- Family Concerns
- Grief and Loss
- Access to Community Services
Note: During the school closure, I am providing my services through telehealth therapy (virtually) and/or telephonic therapy (over the phone).
What are my credentials?
I am licensed as a clinical social worker certified to provide mental health services to children and their families. I have years of experience in mental health assessment, counseling and treatment.
Who can access my services?
Any student and family member of Endeavour Elementary school. However, in accordance with state law, to access my services all students under the age of 13 will need signed parental consent prior to the commencement of services.
Who can refer a student?
Referrals are accepted from anyone who has a concern about a student and can be made by contacting Hillary Harris, the school counselor. However, the service is voluntary and students are not required to utilize my services. I am bound by HIPPA laws and will not divulge any confidential information without a parental release of information (ROI) and student consent. However if I feel that a student is at serious risk for harming themselves or others or in case of child abuse or neglect, school staff, parents and authorities, as appropriate will be contacted.
