What families should expect week to week

March 30 – April 12

Continuing Emergency Education Learning Resources (EELRs) and Initial Planning for Essential New Learning. Teachers will continue to provide Emergency Education Learning Resources (EELRs) that focus on supplemental, enrichment and reinforcement resources.

April 13-17:  Scheduled Spring Break 

The Issaquah School District will follow our planned/calendared spring break. Teachers will not be providing instruction this week. Please note that meal delivery and essential personnel childcare will continue during the break.

April 20 – Until End of Closure: Implementation of ISD Remote Teaching and At Home Learning

  • Daily Target times for teacher directed student engagement in the Essential New Learnings is 180 minutes for all classes.
  • Examples of teacher directed engagement may include:
    • Activities that allow students to access the learning as their circumstances allow, such as
      • Pre-recorded instruction
      • Interactive software
      • Interactive presentations with student response
    • Live streaming
  • Regular office hours will be offered as determined by staff members.
  • Teachers will be providing feedback, assessing, and/or grading students on assigned work.
  • Report cards will be provided at the end of the year.
  • Teachers will continue to use email and their web sites to communicate with parents about the learning activities, expectations and assignments.
  • Special Education and English Language Learner (ELL) teachers will communicate their expectations to their students/families and collaborate with classroom teachers.

Digital tools

Every student in Issaquah School District has access to online digital tools. For our secondary students, they can access many of these tools through ClassLink. For more information about the tools, please refer to the list below. The use of these tools may be relative to teacher use and grade-level.

Actively Learn Actively Learn is an e-reading platform that improves students' reading comprehension and retention by empowering teachers to reach students inside a text. BrainPop Brain Pop allows teachers to assign differentiated activities to students and monitor their progress. Activities include Make-a-Map, Make-a-Movie, Challenge, games, videos and more. It encourages independent learning. 6-8 students Classlink
Office 365 & Teams

Office 365 is Microsoft’s subscription-based service that gives users access to the familiar, desktop office applications through the web browser and access to its cloud storage solution.

Skyward/Family Access Family Access gives parents and students on-line access to student information, including test scores, attendance, class schedules, and immunization records.
