Important Family Guide for Getting Ready to Begin School in 100% Remote Setting:

Recommendations on what ISD middle school families should do between now and the first day of school on September 1st

CONFIRM AND “SAVE” USER ID AND PASSWORDS TO FAMILY ACCESS
Click here to access Family Access.

Family Access (Skyward) is on the ISD website home page.  Click on Family Access in the title box.  That will take you to the Family Access webpage.  The webpage contains a video tutorial and other helpful information on user ID, etc.   On the top of the tan box on the right are links to log in to Family Access.  Students and parents each have their own log in and access.

Every year the password of students entering the 6th grade is automatically changed in the system.  The new password for your 6th grade student is emailed to the parent/guardian.  User ID and passwords for 7th and 8th graders does not change.

Contact our registrar, Kris Ellis, via email ellisk@issaquah.wednet.edu if you or your student cannot log in to Family Access.

CONFIRM AND “SAVE” YOUR USER ID AND PASSWORDS TO CANVAS

Click here to go to Canvas.

On your school website home page along the left side is a box titled “Canvas Log In”.  Click that box to be taken to the log in page of Canvas.  (Save this site to your favorites or add a shortcut to your desktop. Your child will be using this site daily. )

Username: Same as the student network/computer username. Typically, this is the first four letters of the last name, first three letters of the first name and last two numbers of the graduation year. For example, John Smith who graduates in 2022 would have the username SmitJoh22.

Passwords: The 7-digit student ID number followed by ISD (in capital letters). Example: 1234567ISD   Student ID numbers are found in Family Access.

Parent Canvas accounts will be available on September 1st.  Parents will have an “observer” role in Canvas allows access to view their student(s) courses, etc.   Directions for parents to create their own user ID and password in Canvas will be sent out in Enews once the accounts are available.

ONLINE TOOLS AND HELPFUL TUTORIAL VIDEOS
On the ISD website homepage click on the words “Student Portal”.  That will take you to the Digital Resources for Students page. Click here

This page contains helpful information on student access to online curriculum materials and the Student Portal Secondary Grades 6-12.

Click here for the Student Portal Secondary Grades 6-12 to be taken to the CANVAS information and log in page. Here is where you and your student will find useful videos in navigating the learning management system.

Welcome New Families to Maywood!

Dear New Families to Maywood,

It feels like there is so much in flux right now, but I want you to know that the staff at Maywood Middle School are very much still dedicated to successfully transitioning students to Maywood--whether they are starting middle school for the first time as 6th graders or they are a new-to-us 7th or 8th grader!

Our administrative and counseling teams have put together a New Parent Orientation video for new families to Maywood. You can find it by clicking here. We hope this orientation video helps to build a strong school-home connection, answer questions and ease your mind a bit as we start our school year in 100% remote teaching and learning.

In a world of change and uncertainty, we are still just as committed as ever to supporting students and ensuring they have a positive and enriching middle school experience.

We look forward to getting to know your student and supporting them this school year!

Thank you,

Erin McKee
Principal
