Important Course Request Information for the 2021-2022 School Year

 

It is time for students and families to choose their courses for next year at Maywood Middle School. The Course Request process is open from Wed. 3/17 and ends on Sun. 3/28th. Please read the specific information for your student’s grade level. The information below is intended for students currently enrolled in the district. If your student is joining or re-entering the Issaquah School District for the 2021-22 school year, please contact our registrar, Kris Ellis, at ellisk@issaquah.wednet.edu.

Incoming 6th graders Attending MMS in 2021-22
(Current 5th grade students at Apollo, Briarwood, Maple Hills)

Beginning on Wed. 3/17th incoming 6th grade students with their families can complete the course request process via online forms. The link to the form as well as other important information will be emailed to parents and guardians on Wed. 3/17th.  All course requests are due by Sun. 3/28.

 

Helpful Resources:

  • On Wed. 3/17th, all current 5th grade students will view a Maywood Middle School video to welcome them and introduce them to the course request process.     Maywood Music Information:  Explore your options for joining our wonderful Maywood music program. Click here for a short video that will introduce you to Band, Choir and Orchestra. You’ll meet our teachers and our students as they perform and sing pieces demonstrating all the instruments and voice options for you to choose from. This video will help answer questions you may have about all our musical ensembles and help you choose an instrument or choir.

    Once students register for music our teachers will reach out to you with information on acquiring an instrument for band or orchestra or additional information about choir.

    Remember, no previous experience with music is necessary!

  • After reviewing course request information, parents are invited to join us for our Live Zoom Question & Answer Event for Current 5th Grade/ Incoming 6th Grade Families on Monday, March 22nd from 6 pm - 6:45 pm (Link provided via Skyward email to parents on the morning of 3/22). This session will be recorded and available for view on the MMS counseling website within a few days. Would you like to submit a question in advance? 2021-22 School Year 7th Graders
(Current 6th grade students at MMS)

Current 6th grade students will begin the course request process on Wed. 3/17th when they receive information from their teachers and counselors during Charger Time/SEL Class.  All current 6th grade students must complete the course request process online— via the online form and through Skyward Student Access. The course descriptions and directions for requesting courses will be sent via email to parents and guardians on Wed. 3/17.
