Notice of Routine Water Quality and Safety Testing

Posted by Elizabeth Egan on October 11, 2017

October 11, 2017

Dear Issaquah School District Community,

We are sending this notice out to let our community know that as part of our regular operating procedure, the District is having the water in our buildings tested for lead. There have been no reports of lead in our water that have prompted the testing. We are performing the tests in a due diligence effort to ensure water quality and safety. The water sampling will be conducted by PBS Engineering and Environmental starting the week of October 16. The entire process should take between 4-5 months.  All potential drinking water sources will be tested, including drinking fountains, sinks, hose bibs, emergency showers, and locker room showers. The last comprehensive test of lead testing was conducted ten years ago and no unacceptable levels were found at that time. A report of the findings from this round of testing will be accessible to the public. As soon as we have it, we will post the report and send a follow up notification out with a link to the report on our website.

If you have any questions, please contact Tom Mullins in our Capital Projects department at 425-864-2059 or mullinst@issaquah.wednet.edu.
