Community Equity Meetings to Inform School Board Equity Policy – May 21 and 22

Posted on May 14, 2018

For the past several months, the Issaquah School Board has been working on a new District Equity Policy. The input received from the community at the March 28 and April 25 school board meetings was appreciated and helpful. The Board now wishes to invite more voices to the table to hear about the policy and provide feedback in a less formal and more conversational setting. Two community equity meetings have been scheduled for Monday, May 21 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. and Tuesday, May 22 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the ISD Administration Center located at 565 NW Holly Street, Issaquah.

The Board will talk about its goals with the new District Equity Policy (Also called Executive Limitation 16 or EL-16) and the Superintendent will also speak. Then, meeting participants will have an opportunity to discuss and provide input in small conversation groups.

Please take a moment to read the EL-16 and to visit our Equity Web Page for additional information in preparation for the meetings. Those unable to attend either meeting may email comments on the policy to
