Posted on January 15, 2019

The Issaquah School District is seeking a replacement member for School Board Director District 4. This member will replace Lisa Callan, who leaves the board January 24 to focus on her legislative work as a Representative of the 5th District to the Washington State House of Representatives.

All registered voters residing in District 4 are invited to apply for the position. District 4 spans the majority of the Issaquah downtown corridor, the Issaquah Highlands, Preston, Mirrormont, Tiger Mountain, and the District’s southeast corner.  The application process and full eligibility details are described here on our District website at School Board Vacancy

Prospective candidates should verify their residency in District 4 by calling Diane Ghanbari at 425-837-7002 before applying.  The appointee will serve through November 2019 and have the option to file for election to the seat.

The successful candidate will guide the District through a transformational year, which will likely include authorizing a replacement Educational Programs and Operations Levy and beginning a comprehensive boundary review, as the District prepares for its fourth comprehensive high school to be open in fall 2022.

Candidates are required to submit a resume and references and answer several questions on the application. Applications are due by Friday, February 15 and interviews are scheduled for Thursday, February 28. Please see the District website for more information.
