ISD School Board Appoints Sydne Mullings to Director #4 Position

The Issaquah School District is pleased to announce that the ISD School Board appointed Sydne Mullings as the Interim Director for District 4 at the regular school board meeting held on March 12, 2019. Ms. Mullings will fill the board seat vacated by Lisa Callan, who left the board on January 24 to focus on her legislative work as a Representative of the 5th District to the Washington State House of Representatives.

Ms. Mullings will be sworn in at the March 27 regular school board meeting and serve in the interim position until the November, 2019 regular election. School Board appointees fill vacated positions until the next regular election and may seek to run as a candidate in the next or subsequent regular elections. School board members are elected to four-year terms.

"We are excited to welcome Sydne Mullings to the ISD School Board," said Board President Harlan Gallinger. "We held a rigorous selection processed and we were pleased by the quality of the candidates who applied. Ms. Mullings' experience and perspective will be a valuable addition to the board."

Ms. Mullings is the parent of students at Pacific Cascade Middle and Grand Ridge Elementary Schools. She brings more than ten years of service on nonprofit boards with a focus on strategic planning, financial oversight, and review of quality programs. Ms. Mullings holds a bachelor's degree in lnternational Politics and a master's degree in Human Computer lnteraction and has worked in lnformation Technology for more than 20 years.
