November 2019 School Board Election Information

This November, four of the five Issaquah School District seats will be up for election, including Districts, 1, 3, 4, and 5. School Board directors are elected to four-year terms by Issaquah School District voters.

Specific responsibilities of board members include, but are not limited to: monitoring superintendent performance; setting district policy; adopting an annual operating budget; placing levies and bonds before voters; and ratifying contracts negotiated with the local bargaining unit.

Individuals who wish to run for one of the fours eats up for election must file with King County Elections.

The key filing dates and deadlines for 2019 are:

  • In person: May 13-17, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Online: May 13-17, Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • More details, including filing fees and instructions for the November 2019 election are available on the King County Department of Elections Website.

To run, an individual must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Be a registered voter in Washington State
  • Reside within the boundaries of the representative District for which they are running

Prospective candidates must call Diane Ghanbari at 425-837-7002 to make an appointment to verify residency in person at the District Office at 565 NW Holly St. Issaquah.
