Exceptional Placement Math Test for Incoming 6th grade students

Posted on April 2, 2021

Exceptional Placement provides an additional acceleration option for students who are ready to skip CC 7/8 and begin middle school in CC 8/Algebra 1. Students must demonstrate mastery of CC 7/8 skills on a district-administered assessment.

IMPORTANT: This test is not required for your student to skip CC6 and enroll in CC 7/8. It is a test to see if your student knows the content of CC 7/8 and is prepared to skip both CC 6 and CC 7/8 and take CC8/Algebra 1 instead.

The Exceptional Placement test will be offered to interested students on the following dates:

  • Thursday, 19 August 2021
  • Friday, 20 August 2021

Exact testing time(s), details of administration, and sign-up process will be shared in June.

If you are considering Exceptional Placement, please sign your student up for CC 7/8. You can change your selection to CC 8/Algebra 1 after your student passes the Exceptional Placement test.
