Beaver Lake Middle School 7th Grade Math Team 1 Takes 1st Place at State Math Competition

Posted by Elizabeth Egan on 2 April, 2018

Congratulations to Beaver Lake Middle School’s 7th Grade Math Team 1! The team represented BLMS at the Washington State Math Championship on March 24, 2018 in Blaine, WA, and took 1st place!

The competition, which was hosted by Phillips66 and the Blaine School District, is open to both public and private schools. Teams must consist of three or four students from the same grade and school. Students compete against other students in their own grade level, and each team will take all five team-type tests for their grade level, submitting one answer sheet. A sixth test will be an individual test consisting of 30 problems, of which the first 10 questions will be used toward the team test results. The top three scores from each team will be counted.
