Cougar Ridge Elementary Student Council Supports Children Affected by Cancer through Camp Goodtimes Fundraiser

Posted by Jake G. on 17 June, 2014
The Cougar Ridge Elementary Student Council is always looking for ways to contribute to their community. For their spring humanitarian project, the group decided to raise funds through donations for Camp Goodtimes. Along with their charitable contributions, an anonymous donor challenged the Student Council with a funding match. For each dollar raised throughout the week long fundraising campaign the anonymous donor matched in contributions. The Cougar Ridge Student Council collected $2000 from the student body and was matched by the anonymous donor for a total of $4,000 raised for Camp Goodtimes. Camp Goodtimes West was established in 1984 on Vashon Island to provide a no cost camp environment for children affected by cancer where they can recapture the joys of childhood.
