Classified School Employees Week: Celebrating the People who Keep our Schools Running Smoothly

Posted by Devin Felix on 12 March, 2020

It’s Classified School Employees Week, and we’re recognizing a classified employee or group of employees each day. These are the people who do the work to keep our schools running so students can focus on learning.

Today, meet landscape technician Dani Tronsen, who works at Sunset Elementary, Cougar Ridge Elementary and Pine Lake Middle School. She studied horticulture in college and ran a landscaping business before joining the district about a year ago.

“It’s nice to use my knowledge and expertise to make people proud of where their kids go to school,” Dani says. “If we can keep the school looking nice people want to be a part of it. And a lot of our work isn’t just making it look nice, but it’s also about safety.”

Dani often interacts with students who are curious about her work and uses it as an opportunity to teach them about plants, storm water, insects and other important topics.

Thank you to all our classified staff! It takes a lot of time, work and dedication to keep our schools running, and it couldn’t happen without you.
