Gaelic Games on the Plateau

Gaelic Games on the Plateau

Skyline High School continues the tradition of teaching Gaelic football in its PE Classes and Eastlake High School in Sammamish has joined in on the fun too. On Friday, October 7, Brendan Hyland’s Spartan PE classes met with Scott Lowery and Pat Parnell’s Grey Wolf PE classes at Eastlake High School for some friendly competition. The matches were refereed with the help of Terry Lynch, Youth Development Manager for the Seattle Gaels – a local organization that endeavors to promote Irish sports – as well as other volunteers.

Students played four games. While the competition was close, Skyline ultimately edged out Eastlake and took home the grand prize – a trophy gifted by Irish President, Michael D.Higgins, inspired by his visit in October 2015 to Skyline High School
