Grand Ridge Elementary Students Treated to Seattle Mariners Surprise at Assembly

Posted by Elizabeth Egan on 14 June, 2018

At the end of May Grand Ridge Elementary students were treated to a special surprise assembly with the Seattle Mariners. All year long students worked hard to earn individual Grizzly Gold by following expected behaviors. Collectively as a class students filled their classroom jars to earn a Gold Grizzly Gold, which was placed on the school wide paw - the Golden Paw. Working together the Grand Ridge Grizzlies filled the Golden Paw, and students were treated to a school-wide celebration!

Mariner’s radio broadcaster Rick Rizzs and six players joined students at an all school assembly to talk about how to reach their DREAM. Each player spoke about a specific principle to help students achieve their goals:

  • D – Drug Free
  • R – Respect Yourself and Others
  • E – Education
  • A – Attitude
  • M – Motivation

Students got to watch a fun video starring the Moose at the end of the assembly, and got some fun Mariners goodies to take home at the end of the day. Congratulations to all the Grand Ridge Grizzlies on their yearlong commitment to Being Safe, Being Responsible, and Being Respected every day!
