Issaquah High Students Place Third in C-SPAN’s StudentCam 2017 Competition

Posted by Elizabeth Egan on 14 June, 2017
“What is the most urgent issue for the new president and Congress to address in 2017?” That is the question C-SPAN and Comcast posed to high school students in their national video documentary contest. At Issaquah High School, AP Government students Kelton McLeod, Hannah Hawkins, and William Heller from Jackie Bleur’s class caught the attention of judges, earning third place in the West Division for their entry that explained why jobs should be the administration’s top priority. C-SPAN and Comcast visited Issaquah High School on June 6, 2017 to congratulate the students in front of their classmates. Kelton, Hannah, and William will split a contest prize of $750.00. Nearly 3,000 videos were submitted nationally, of which 150 students and 53 teachers received prizes. You can see all of the winning entries at www.studentcam.org.
