Issaquah High School Sports Med Team wins National Title at Championships

Posted by Elizabeth Egan on 19 June, 2017
Congratulations to the Issaquah High Sports Medicine Team who won the national title at this year’s Sports Medicine National Championships! The pool of contestants for this year’s competition was over 300 schools, exceeding 3,500 students total.

IHS Sports Med teacher Todd Parsons says, “It is hard to put into words how amazing of an accomplishment this is and how proud I am of these students. To see the passion and commitment these students put in to represent themselves, their classmates, the school, and our district is incredibly humbling.”

This group not only won the team competition, but also had the Individual National Champion, and 13 All American Winners (which means they placed in the top 25 individually). All 15 members of the IHS team placed in the top 1% of the competition this year.

Below is a list of the students showing individual placing:

Jessica Hart (Individual National Champion)
Jessica Gallawa (3rd place)
Kristen Hines (6th Place)
Meredith Carle (7th place)
