Liberty DECA Shines at International Conference

After a year of hard work and preparation, the Liberty High School DECA (Distributive Educations Clubs of America) international qualifiers excelled at the International Career and Development Conference, in Nashville, TN. The conference was held in late April and the DECA group joined eighteen thousand high school students, advisors, and businesspersons to develop their knowledge and skills for college and careers. During the conference, students competed in events that demonstrated the knowledge and skills they have honed throughout the year. They also learned skills in areas of collaboration, communications, critical thinking, and creativity from the “Emerging Leader Series” lectures and had the opportunity to explore career and post-secondary education possibilities at the College and Career Exhibit Show.

Ten of Liberty’s 21 international qualifiers advanced as finalists in the competition. National finalists who placed in the competition include: Alex Wilsey- Top 10, Jacob Christopher- Top 10, Nathan Christopher- Top 10, Brittany Toombs- Top 10, Katie Sveinsson- Top 10, Brigette Takeuchi- Top 10, Jackson Wray- Top 10, Holden Kooiker- Top 10, Chase McIntosh- Top 10, and Eric Fong.
